We often want the whole plan before we take the first step. We want clarity about where things are going and how everything will work out.
But faith rarely works that way.
This verse describes God’s word as a lamp. Not a floodlight that shows the entire road ahead. A lamp that lights the next step.
That image matters. A lamp gives enough light to keep moving, but it does not reveal everything at once.
Many of us struggle with that. We want certainty. We want answers before we begin. But God often guides us gradually.
His word shapes our decisions. It steadies our thinking. It reminds us of what is true when the world feels noisy.
Step by step, that guidance becomes clearer.
You may be waiting for direction right now. A decision. A change. A sense of where you should go next.
If that is where you are, return to what God has already said. His word is not just information. It is guidance for real life.
You may not see the whole path yet. But God will give you enough light for the next step.
Prayer: God, help me trust Your guidance even when I cannot see the whole path. Lead my next step today. Amen.

The ‘Lamp’ has been a focus of the past week for me , my KYB study , my morning devotion, a message on my noticeboard …..and now this .
So wonderful…..but as believers, we aren’t just observers …we actively carry the lamp , we hold it …and step by step He guides. We carry it by reading the word , meditating on the word and studying the word .
