“So do not fear, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10
Sometimes fear is loud. But other times it is quiet. It sits under the surface while you go through your day. You might not even call it fear. You call it overthinking. You call it stress. You call it feeling unsure.
This time of year can bring that out. New routines. New goals. New pressure. Everyone seems ready and excited. But you might be thinking, what if I cannot keep up. What if I fail. What if I make the wrong choice.
God speaks into that kind of fear with comfort and strength. He does not start by telling you to be brave. He starts by telling you the truth. I am with you.
That is the foundation. God with you.
Then He makes a promise. I will strengthen you. I will help you. I will uphold you.
That word uphold matters. It means you are not the one holding yourself up. You are not the one keeping everything together. God is supporting you when you feel shaky. God is steady when you are not.
This does not mean you will never feel afraid. It means you do not have to be led by fear. Fear says, you are alone. God says, I am with you.
This week, you may have a hard conversation. You may feel unsure about a decision. You may feel behind. You may feel like you are carrying too much in your mind. When that happens, return to this verse.
Say it out loud if you need to. God is with me. God will help me. God will hold me up.
You might not feel strong right away. That is okay. God’s strength often shows up while you are still weak. His help often shows up one step at a time.
You are not forgotten. You are not alone. You are held.
Prayer: God, when fear rises, remind me that You are with me. Strengthen me and help me today. Hold me steady when I feel unsure. Amen.
