LOVE THAT GAVE EVERYTHING: John 3:16

LOVE THAT GAVE EVERYTHING: John 3:16

“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
John 3:16

John 3:16 is one of the best-known verses in the Bible.

Because it is so familiar, it can be easy to move past it too quickly. We see it printed on signs, our Everyday Faith tees, and church walls. We may know the words by heart without stopping to consider what they mean.

God so loved the world that He gave. Love moved Him to action.

He did not only tell us that we mattered. He showed us through Jesus.

Jesus entered our world, carried our sin, and gave His life so that we could be brought back to God. The cross was not a small sign of love. It was love giving everything.

This verse also makes the message personal.

The world includes you.

Jesus came for people in every kind of story. The confident and the unsure. The faithful and the wandering. The person who feels worthy and the person who does not.

No one is outside the reach of His invitation.

The words “Jesus loves you” can sound simple, but they carry the full weight of the gospel. They mean you were seen. You were wanted. A way was made for you to know God.

His love offers more than encouragement for a hard day. It offers new life.

It gives us forgiveness for the past, hope for today, and the promise of life with God forever.

You do not have to wonder how far God’s love would go for you.

Look at Jesus, He gave everything.

Prayer: God, thank You for showing Your love through Jesus. Help me never become too familiar with the wonder of what You have done for me. Amen.
