āPeace I leave with you. My peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.ā
John 14:27
Peace can feel hard to find.
The world moves quickly. There is always another notification, another responsibility, another reason to worry about what comes next.
Many of us spend our days carrying more than we were meant to carry. We replay conversations. We think through problems before they happen. We try to prepare for every possible outcome.
But Jesus offers something different.
He does not offer a life without challenges. He offers peace in the middle of them.
The peace Jesus gives is not based on circumstances. It does not disappear when life feels uncertain. It is rooted in His presence.
That is why Jesus could tell His followers not to let their hearts be troubled. Not because everything would go perfectly, but because He would be with them.
We often think peace will come when everything is resolved. When the bills are paid. When the relationship improves. When the decision is made.
But Godās peace is available before any of those things happen.
It is available today.
This week, pay attention to what is taking up space in your mind. Notice the things that are stealing your peace.
Then bring them to God.
You do not have to solve everything before you rest. You do not have to know every answer before you trust.
Peace is not found in having control.
Peace is found in knowing who is in control.
Prayer: Jesus, help me receive the peace You offer today. Quiet my heart and remind me that You are with me in every situation. Amen.
